There's lots of tomatoes to fill the rest of that side. On the other side onions, a early treat, potatoes. seven kinds of squash, pumpkins water melons. all in meager amounts. They had to make room for the star. These seeds called out to you. Kansas "Indian" corn. It don't grow yellow ears. They are red and purple, pink and blue. Crazy swirls of color and so good! You know it will be. You plant the whole extended back yard and the ditch beyond with corn. You even offer to fill the yard neglecting neighbor a back yard full for free and he agrees. You tend to the plants with love. You slowly build a comfy bed out of mowed grass bits. The onions come up soon. As short stalks they are sweet but small. You eat many and share with the House people who praise them. You save one third for for big round onions later.
Already the corn is strong and tall. Up to your hips in a very short time. You often sleep amongst the corn. The stalks seem to whisper in the wind to you. And the more you listen the more you understand. The more you obey. The Corn God. He who Walks among the Rows.
