Outline map of Infictive County

Sayeth the X: "The infamous artist center located in Oregon, USA. A gathering place for many bohemians and many hangers-on. Groupies, talent agents, and drug dealers are common spices to the soup. New music, literature, and art groups would spring up over night like mushrooms after rain. The 'Grateful Dead' of this area is the venerable band, The sulty shifters."

History

Infictive County, called for the Crumpatako Indian name for the region (from the mythical Infictites), was founded on September 28, 1881 by act of the state government. The county seat was formed in the town of Libreville, a growing trade-and-mining spot (then dominated by the French-backed A.O. Mining Company) in the far eastern reaches of Oregon, situated on the shores of the Aberration River (now Mills-Berry).

Economy

The economy of Infictive County is primarily reliant on lumber, agriculture, natural resource extraction, education, and health care, with some manufacturing industry based in the Libreville area. The county often seeks to promote itself for the many outdoor recreational and sightseeing opportunities offered.

Government

The County is governed by a five-member County Commission, elected to four-year terms, who, in turn, appoint the County Manager. Other county elected officials include the offices of district attorney, assessor, clerk, sheriff and treasurer. The county encompasses all the city of Libreville, communities of Argent, Geiston, Ketjack, Lectrum, Simpso, and the village of Santa Magic.

As of 2012, the County Commissioners are Elnora Reagle, Darcy Ulery, Spector Palacios, Despina Wassum, and Zita Arrocho; [1] and the County Manager is currently pending the inaugural meeting of the new commission.

Geography

Situated in south east Oregon, Infictive County is one of the more dynamic counties that make up the great state of Oregon. Bounded by Moloch County to the west, Harney County to the north and east, Lake County to the south. The county encompasses some 5,014 square miles (12,988 square kilometers) of High Desert frontier!

The county’s high desert geographical features include the Red Hills, the Ketjack National Forest, Crump Lake, and the Mills-Berry River, in addition to numerous other smaller lakes, creeks, and rivers. The population of Infictive County has steadily increased from 1850. The 2012 population is estimated to be 17,894, an increase over the 1990 census of nearly 23%.
