You now start the sacred mission of painting the entire church black! You gather up all the money from the dead worshipper to buy bucket after bucket of paint. You spend a few weeks starting on the outside. You are painting the very bell in the church's spire black when God sends a lightning bolt to smite you dead of a clear blue sky day. The lightning bolt also flakes all the black paint off the church.
