Ugla-Day (February 1) is a national holiday in Uglavaria, marking the first declaration of partition by Ugla-Man, and opening day of the week long Ugla-Fest. It is heavily promoted by the Uglavaria International Committee as part of their growing efforts to expand the tourist trade. See also Ugla-Fest
It is mandatory that all citizens smile and act happy for the length of this festive celebration of our glorious leader. Common holiday meals are unsweetened cakes. Sugar is a rare and expensive thing here. Tea with vrosh or coffee with vrosh. Vrosh straight. Corwsk, a tastless gritty paste that is cheap to make, and fills the belly masking hunger and malnutrition. Children get to have a little log to burn in the fireplace and huddle around. A once a year treat!
