Today is Monday, October 22, 2012, marking 168 years of disappointment for those followers of Willy Miller and Sammy Snow and all the others, all of them who could not muster the grace to pray the Lord down from those cloudy heavens. And now, for those of us who carry on, this is the week that was:

  • Fernando Vanorden, a little person well-known in the literary scene for his work, was found dead in a nature park, the victim of apparent gunshot wounds. Local authorities are treating the case as a homicide, but have not issued any information on suspects in the case. There will be a public memorial held for Vanorden at the Libreville Public Library on Friday, October 26, on what would have been his 45th birthday.

  • Protests erupted on Wednesday night over an attempt by a flock of local Discordians, led by Pope Farthopps the Innocent, to ceremonially consecrate the Dice statue at City Hall. The protesters, calling themselves A.P.E., decried what they called the "human-centric ideology" and the "Papacy of humanity", chanting "Every ape is a PRIMATE". Both groups were eventually made to disperse from the scene by police due to lack of proper permits. Pope Farthopps called the situation a terrible misunderstanding and said she plans to acquire all the necessary paperwork in the next week to carry out the ceremony before Hallowe'en.

  • The News Comic Action Syndicate, distributors of the Banzai Bunny strip, denied allegations they had licensed the character for use in violently anti-Mollkin edu-comics that have been appearing all across the country and online. In the comics, Banzai Bunny teams up with partners to take down the Mollkin Connection, a popular charity organization, in hyper-violent and graphic actions. The comics have been decried as racist intimidation and the Syndicate has said they will pursue all available legal remedies over the unauthorized use of the character.

  • Regrettably, there has been little student participation in the "October Project", in particular a disappointingly low submission rate during the drafting process. The project will remain open to participants until the end of the month, after which a new accreditation project will be opened to students under an appointed Project Manager.

And so went the week In Infictive. Excepting all the things we failed or refused to report on this week.
