'Double Trouble', a tale of revenge from 'Black Magic' #39 (vol. 6, no. 6)
Today is Monday, June 4, 2012, and we alert you that the Transit of Venus is upon us all! Come Tuesday, come Wednesday, all the works of the Venusians and their allies will be revealed to those who are alert, attentive, and of sound spirit.
Meanwhile, here is our weekly recounting of the previous week In Infictive.
Fans of the dark, fantastic, and folded space of "South Field" take note: "On the shore of the Lake of Cards", the latest Mystery X album, a companion to the short story "A Cabin on the Lake of Cards", has begun a staggered release. The artist himself promises an epic romp, and we have no doubts that he will deliver.
Another ESM release, "Coffee Land", an Alan Smithee film, will be available at select vendors beginning June 12, and we roundly encourage you to skip it. Despite what we consider a positive working relationship with Elephant Street Media, we feel it our duty to question the choice to include this film in their elite selection, believing it to be one of the most exploitative films ever produced, a sickening display of depravity posing as polemic, a film so utterly worthless and shoddy that it rightly deserves the routine thrashing it has received. While we cannot recommend the film, we will say, in the interest of balance, it has pleasing cinematography in some few scenes, all thanks to a team that resigned during production and quickly disassociated themselves from the film.
Our man, your man, the Soda Man himself, successfully completed the annual 48 hour soda fast. You may not have believed he could get it done, but your hero and mine, the Soda Man, made it all 48 hours without a single soda. Remember to pay your bookies, nay-sayers!
