"And God made America" is the last Kyle Deerbone album, having been rushed out five weeks after his on stage assassination. It was culled off the album that Deerbone had been working on, but had only one third finished. Only the songs "Sweet drips hollow corn" and "And God made America" are done entirely with Deerbone and his session players. The rest of the album takes bits of unfinished songs and even his answering machine greeting to flesh out the record.
