Not all art is illegal however. Some artists are allowed to go on living and painting if they stay within government drawn lines. Vacant but pretty farm-scapes. Portraits of American heros like Gerald Ellon. War art. Things like these are allowed, but you have to be a licensed artist subject to random searches to make sure you are not crossing any lines. This includes random drug testing. So art shops are still out there.
One dark night you dress all in black with a black rag hiding your face. You smash the window of a art shop with your baseball bat. You collect a three foot stack of canvas, topped with several boxed paints and brushes sets and a sketch book. You hasten out of there as fast as you can. You lost the sketch book along the way but you bring the rest of your goodies home without being caught.
