
Next to the alarm clock is a small hand-held device that looks like a detonator, or, perhaps, a very complicated electric tooth-cleaner. As you grasp it in your hand and lift it up for a closer look, you suddenly feel the surpising weight of it. Seems to be made of some dull silvery alloy. The end is a plug that fits in some kind of socket you've never seen before. There are no engravings, no stickers, no identifying marks of any kind.
What on earth is it for?
"Maybe it's for something not of this earth," you say to yourself, chuckling, briefly forgetting how strange this predicament you're in really is.
