You do odd jobs

So you go looking for work. Any job for almost any price. You scrub toilets. You kill rats with a stick in a greasey diner. After a day of horrible jobs for low pay you are walking home as the evening gets dark. A desparate mugger clubs you over the head with a brick and he takes the pocket change you have earned. The brick split your skull. You convulse on the sidewalk for a few minutes before someone calls the cops. The cops arrive and they call a ambulance. You are taken to the hospital but you never regain conscioussness. You are brain dead so they pull the plug.
