At the two young age of 17 Paul drove the stolen Ellon truck to the great ancient arch of South Field. He parked the truck and stared up in wonder at this ancient Elvin arch easily over ten thousand years old carved from stones no one has ever found the likes of anywhere else. He lays in the massive flat bed, the thing had a rain proof outdoor mattress on it already. He watched the arch and drifted off to sleep for a little over an hour. He has heard stories about the ancient ruins of modern cities founded in south Field and he wondered how much they resembled the ruins he had seen and he went looking for them. His stomach growled as he drove the tough Ellon truck. He saw a tree on a old Elvin burial mound nearly flattened into the earth that had a Moonfruit tree on it. There was four ripe baseball sized fruits all red purple and delicious! He ate them at he drove. Luscious juices running down his chin and splattering the windshield. Sherb felt happy. He loved the road despite its dangers. He loved the freedom to find great places like this. He planned to drive late into the late looking for those ruins. He does not find them. Sleeps at a rest stop among cars vans and horse drawn buggies. Paul was famished in the morning. He pushed the pedal down and left South field miles away. He pulled up to the Viking Faire Restaurant. He had to get some grub.
The Viking Faire
Fishing in the glove compartment nets Paul the Bullyscout's fathers wallet. He goes in, up the wooden plank ramp. Squirrels in viking out fits rush around with orders. The building is designed o look like a viking long boat. Sherb order's a pitcher of mead and he gets a joy filled raging buzz on. He can't believe how good it tastes. And they didn't card him. He is only seventeen and this is the third time he has ever been drunk. Roaring out of there wasted the cops gave pursuit and they set ahead some spikes to rupture the tires. He escaped but the tires where flat and he abandoned the truck and left on foot. He walked back to the Viking Faire and got dinner. That's where he met a guy who has looking to get rid of this home made device he called a Mega-Weapon. Paul had a ounce of commercial grade weed that he straight up traded him for it. He considered returning to Chawville and killing some goat people.
Ungstropt
Time to lay low. Stealing trucks assaulting kids on alien worlds, He felt very much the out law so he made off on the rest of the wallet money to Ungstropt. A cold barren blizzarscape above Uglavaria. The bleakest country in the world. Here he could stay off the radar and the twenty seven dollars remaining would get him three months at a slightly above freezing stone house and even bland tasteless gruel to keep him alive. Peaked and tired looking sick all the time but alive. After a couple months here Paul was ready to leave but getting out of Ungropt is not so easy. Broke he had to get a job and work a year to afford a ticket. The better part of his 17th year spent with a never ending flu and a life so tedius that dreams where his only release. Work like a dog eat some formless and questionable broth and all asleep til its time to work again. 14 months pass.
Far Field
Finally he got a ticket and landed in Far Field. Near the edge of the field lands. As he crossed over the rough tilled soil a group of Nuns passed him. He grinned and nodded, dragging the heavy weapon behind him. He hoped they would passed pass by. They gave some synced religious hand signal and moved off. Paul was relieved. Happy to be on homeland soil again and well armed as well. Paul decided to go to the nearby Southfield to resume his search for those ancient ruins he has heard of. He meets up with Andrew McFing. McFing was shrooming and a all day walk. He says he would like to go with Paul to South field and they smoke a fat joint while walking in the bright noon sun. Past old hay barns sagging and sinking into the earth. Cheers.
Back to South Field
So Paul and Mcfing make their way to South Field. But the place is a war zone. The Molkin Uprising is on and they both are injured in the battle. Paul is seriously hurt. McFing smokes another joint with him and although he can actually see one of his ribs sticking out he laughs and he really has never been happier. "Walk free til Dead" , He says. They stay there and continue to drive down the side roads and off the beaten path shops that thrive here. Folded space areas like this seam to spit objects out. You buy a authentic Mollkin guitar. Its hard to tune and a bit warped but its fun to play. That night you and McFing hang out on your tail gate taking turns strumming it and singing. He shared another joint. Even near death he never dreamed life could be like this. So high all the time. So groovy. A couple of weeks pass like this. Mcfing loans Paul some money to continue the quest and he goes off to a gig in Simpso. He says he shall return and help him find that city. Paul hits another shop and he buys some Black Silk Sap Liquor. Secreted by amorous flowers who copulate with humans all day. He drinks the sweet flowery drink and he heals and gains health. Still no ruins found. Still Paul stayed in South field. Going on six months now. He got a guitar player to join a band with him named the Southfield seekers. Writing folk rock songs about looking for a lost city. Another week of searching and gigging for The Southfield seekers. Mcfing scores some nose candy and he snorts and shares with the band. Pual is happy but looking ghastly. Near death and strung out. You can almost expect to see vultures following him. He decides to move on and maybe return and search for those ruins some other time. paul is so happy he always feels like he is walking on air. They say you can go to heaven just by being happy enough and mr. Sherb thinks its right and he is on his way. But he needs a change of pace. But in the end maybe the constant drugs and booze got to him. Paul Sherb joined the Death Monster's rights movement and he was killed at the march with monsters act. Killed by the monsters whose rights he was fighting for. The End
