The Unknown President was alleged to have been elected to office in 1920 (though it has also been suggested they were elected in 1874), the circumstances never explained, though almost all record of his brief tenure was subsequently destroyed, his name erased from history. It is uncertain how or why this was accomplished, and, so, most experts disregard claims to there having been any "Unknown President".
