The Taco Pop Company is a beverage company based in Libreville, Oregon. It bottles and distributes soft drinks, non-carbonated beverages, energy drinks, and condiments. Taco Pop is their main product line, a carbonated soft drink that is taco flavored.
Founded by Ronald Chinweuba and Adhiambo Ackland in 1992, the company began operations as Chinweuba-Ackland Importers, Inc., a beverage distributor in Eastern Oregon, offering a range of imported and local brands to stores up and down the Pacific coast. As the company grew, they gained significant knowledge of the beverage industry, and decided to license the popular California soda "Taco Pop" and bring it a wider market. A few years later, they purchased the formula outright, and built their first soda factory outside of Libreville, changing their name to the Taco Pop Company.
As of January 2007, Taco Pop has been owned by Crump Holdings, with Ronald Chinweuba remaining on as president and day-to-day operational manager.
In June 2009, Taco Pop announced that the company would be transitioning to use pure red algae and cane sugar (in the form of an inverted syrup) in its products, with the exception of its energy drinks.
