And so it happens: MongoTV puts together a television series, starring the band as itself, playing yourselves pre-fame. Yes, just you and the guys, all living under a bridge, drugged up and full of visions. They pitch it as The Monkees via Lars von Trier, or a live-action The Yellow Submarine by way of Ishirō Honda, and dozens of other comparisons that you don't really recall, and probably more that you never paid attention to. After they revealed how much money was being offered, the pitch didn't matter.
The pilot episode is filmed very quickly, and it was actually lots of fun! Possibly because of the complimentary drugs they load you up with, but the script wasn't that bad either. It is a rather quirky show, and none of you are very good actors, so they seem to be trying to make up for it by doing zany bits and using out-there devices, like having each member dress in a different outlandish costume each show. In this first episode, you wore full air-conditioned plate mail, read a monologue, ate green gravy with some giant birds, and performed a few songs that someone else wrote, but you were so high that you barely remember most of it.
Naturally, it's all a big hit with the network, and you get picked up for a twenty-two episode season!
Of course you did! You're the Quick Nods!
