Tension Bedwell plays synths and flutes for the Sulty Shifters
Interview with Tension Bedwell from the august 23 issue of Going Stoned Magazine
Balls Cletsworth: I remember Leon Redbone said once that the big break in 20th century music was not in the '50s when rock came in; it was when swing and jazz knocked off parlor piano ballads in the late '20s and early '30s. Do you ever wish that old style had stuck around a little longer?
Tension Bedwell: Fuck yeah man, and tha drug n dope n substances that floated around back then should still be floating. Music is dead now, but that reflects the state of our culture.
BC: No one was expecting a new album from your band now. I heard even the record company was surprised. How do you know it's time to go in and make a new one?
Tension Bedwell: I knew from a Tarot card reading, and from reading the entrails of a deer I hit at seventy miles an hour while driving home.
