Prayer rug

A prayer rug (or prayer mat) is a piece of fabric laid down to keep a worshipper clean and comfortable during prostrations. Most commonly, Muslims use prayer rugs during the sujud (prostration to God) of salah, creating a space for them to focus their worship; some other factions also use prayer rugs, not always with the same intent.
