Today is Tuesday, October 9, 2012, and we are one day behind our regular schedule owing to the holiday. Try not to worry; I'm sure that none of you even noticed. On with the reporting of events !

  • The first week of the month saw Otto's October Project (a.k.a. Project 201210) beginning in earnest, soliciting for interest, with much more work to be done. Extra credit will be awarded to students of the creative writing program who participate and submit content of quality and merit.

  • Andrew McFing's "Strange purple eyes" is the first new story by the notorious musician-cum-author since a vehicular accident in July that claimed the lives of his passengers, the Extra Holy Rollers. His last two books, "ADOPT A MOLLKIN" and "Egregores can kill you", both published earlier in the year, were critical flops, and are said to have underperformed publisher expectations. Does this latest short presage a return to form for McFing? We'll let you decide in the comments.

  • More leaks from the latest Black Circle album, "Plundering Nowhere Mountain", have begun to spread through the fan community. There has been no announcement of when the final cut will be released.

  • The Vega-Vita-Meat Company has been confronted by Vegitable Rights protests at several of their plants, organized by followers of Eric Podd. The company has denied claims made by activists that their biggest product line, Butterworth Steak, is harvested from "genetically-modified carnivorous plants" grown on "a diet of feces and bone slurry". Thus far the confrontations have remained peaceful, but some worry that may change if the protests grow in the coming weeks.

And so went the week In Infictive. Don't let this parting upset you: I'll not forget you, sweetheart.
