Today is Monday, October 1, 2012, which marks the inauguration of our first Infictive Project Manager of the Month, with User:Otto taking the role. We all eagerly look forward to seeing what he has planned in the days and weeks to come, but, for now, we will content ourselves to review the week that was.
- Celebrations in honor of the founding of our county Infictive took place on Friday night, events held in all towns and villages with the traditional pomp and fare. A parade march from the site of old Fort Hogsback to City Hall and on to Oblivion Park, where an all-night concert was performed, in Libreville, and the "Fire on the Lake" ceremony in Simpso. For our part, we attended Andrew McFing's private party to mark the auspicious day (and the release of a new recording of "The Blackout Papers", produced by Mystery X), partaking of his lectures on many subjects and recitations of verse.
- Fnordham's own "Inficto School of Painting", a student-led program to develop, educate, and play in paint, has come to an end, the group voluntarily dissolving as much of its membership has completed their studies and moved on. A sad day for some, but already a group of new students are assembling into what they are calling "El Colectivo Hongo", carrying on the important work of art education for another generation of Fnordhamites.
- The new reality show "The Relentless All-Night Polka Band" (named for the Infictive County band) premiered to staggeringly high numbers on Tuesday night, raking in 2.4 million total viewers for the cable network Dartsvision. The episode focused on the auditioning process for a new member, who, according to the copy, is intended as the everyman being exposed to their carnivalesque music sideshow world for the first time. People do love a train wreck, don't they?
And so went the week In Infictive. You know, more or less. Comments and complaints in the box, as ever.
