Recorded in 1965. The location was Titstown, Nebraska. Ludwig played several of the custom made percussion instruments heard in the piece. The string section is from the Libreville orchestra. Most of the percussionists are friends and fellow students from college with him.
It was a idea from this dream he kept having about thousands of flocks of strange birds migrating from other worlds as part of a once in a thousand years cycle. In his dreams he watched them fly over head. Watched them eat leaves and bugs and hop about his lawn a rainbow of colors.
