Media comes first dammit! You bypass the grocery stores and other haunts of mutant survivors and hunter gatherers. You spend a year down in the bunker but it seems like decades have passed out here.
The library turns out to be more or less untouched! All the windows have imploded but the place has not been looted and it has only suffered minor flame damage. You fill your huge back pack up with treasure and you even find a snack machine on the second floor. You smash it open and grab a hot soda and a couple bags of chips. You haul the goods back to the bunker and repeat this several times until it starts getting dark. You sleep a content happy sleep in your bunker. Now stocked with lots more media, many cans of soda and all sorts of snacks.
