You are alone unless you are at work and you might as well be alone there too. So you slip deeper and deeper into a rich epic fantasy life. You make up your own world with detailed maps and written histories. You create many cultures and detail them. A world so rich it feels like one can reach out and touch it.
Then you start submitting the book of your world's history to publishers and its picked up. They publish and the book is every bit as big as Lord of the Rings. You are a rich man still living in a fantasy world.
