Bernard H. Stuckey

Bernard Herbert Stuckey was the 31st President of the United States (1929–1933), elected on a Technocratic platform. He attempted to implement radical changes to the economic system in the wake of the Black Friday stock market crash, including changing the currency system from dollars to ergs, a national energy budget, and other technology-focused solutions, but was thwarted by Congress. One of his oddest proposals was a ban on time travel, a law that was curiously bundled into the Agriculture Marketing Act (1929), to be enforced by the Federal Farm Board.
