They're everywhere, if you know where to look. Most people who come across more than one end up convinced that they're all simply different moments of the same original individual. Others suspect that they are two brothers, maybe triplets.
But it's been noticed that every now and then one is a woman. And every now and then one of them is very, very, strange indeed. A number are, at least nominally, members of the Branch of the Real Branch, mostly those who have lost their taste for the mission. More properly stated, their taste for trying to rediscover a mission.
A large contingent of the Smattering are engaged full-time in the unraveling of the mystery: who are these brown-suited agents? Where are they from? When are they sourced? Who do they work for?
