Cult Spread was a butter substitute that was easy to produce and profitable, thus, many communes and cults produced it. It was mixed with mind-bending agents and given to new recruits to brainwash them. Its popularity plummeted, however, when it was discovered that people who ate Cult Spread regularly had unbelievably bad flatulence. Not only was it stinky, it also left a residue behind that covered everything. This residue's appearance was crystalline in texture and black and white in coloration. It is believed to have raised phlegm levels to an all time high.
It should be remembered that when stocking Cult Spread to always get a good rotation on the product by 1) not overstocking to create condensation causing moldy, rusty sides of the tub, and 2) just don't do it.
