The FuckGod Trio are a American Twisto rock group, distinct from many similar groups of the mid to late-2000s in its contraversial name. It also had a sound somewhat reminiscent of The Daath Riders, but it was not known as a power grunge punk quartet. By the late 2005 it had become an internationally famous rock and roll group.
In 2003, the group known as The Freak Lovers evolved into The FuckGod Trio, with Shelby McNusty on Roland Fantom 23, Mack Twoll (formerly of The Infectos) on keyboards and harsh screams, May Foster a chubby blond girl from the deep south on drums and vocals.
The early F G T were often quite melodic, featuring Foster's versatile singing, which had a style rooted in pirate shanty songs. Musically, the band has also displayed some Industrial influences (but not as much as Mutant Jar Binge bands). Early FuckGodTrio songs tended to have catchy, sing-along choruses, initially backed by Shelby's distorted keyboard accompaniments and later by mutli-tracked synth clusters. The band began as a completly untrained ensemble. After several lineup changes and increasing international acclaim, Shelby McNusty disbanded the The FuckGod Trio in 2006.
