Bare wood board buildings, cheap to begin with, already in a state of decay. The stark, bleached buildings scattered like bones. Skeletal yet teeming still with the last vile remnants. Maggots. The people here are maggots.
They make me identify them with my body; I too will be bleached scattered bones.
Like in Budd's book, the Mahasatipatthana Sutta: "Truly this body is of the same nature; it will become like that, and cannot escape from it. Scavengers had made away with eyes, then the flesh. Other scavengers had made away with the guns and boots. Dust travels in a worried loop through the center of the abandoned town."
