Mystery X is a folk artist from the outbacks of the long ago vanished country places. A bodyless ghost like speaks in the wind, to those tuned in to such things. A form without ghost grinding the wheels the cog within a cog, spiral in a entrophy circle as the world rots all around us, creak.

The Avant Glitch Project Manifesto

Taking compositional aspects of avant garde and Musikalische Würfelspiele or Musical Dice Games where used by chance composers as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to generate music. Another interesting avant garde way of composing was using images or written instructions for the musicians to intemperate.

So with the Avant Glitch composition each would be composer rolls a dice to see who writes the current part of the score. The composer sets how long the piece shall run and details of what happens during those minutes. The Composer and all the participating musicians then write separate parts using the written guide lines provided by composer. In this form of music several people make pieces without hearing the others parts till they are mixed into the finished piece by the composer. All uploaded files are to be in .wav format.

Here's an example. ODE to GLITCH opus one: This track goes to three minutes.

  • The first 45 seconds are a soft quiet ambiance with a touch or two of ominous.
  • From here to minute Two is bursts of angry staccato (short quick bursts). Sometime during this quick jagged part each musician introduces their theme song or melody to appear replacing the staccato parts. This theme is to be repeated during other parts of the Mutant symphony so it should stay somewhere handy.
  • Up to the two and a half minute mark is a flurry of vocal samples and drums. Again during this time each player repeats the main theme bit they created earlier perhaps altered.
  • The last thirty seconds is a repeat of any and all sounds the musician has created earlier in the song but all the sound in only the left or right channel to be rolled at random by each person.

An example of a random composition chart

Length of Song Roll a six sided dice to determine length of the current part of the symphony:

  • 1-2 two and a half minutes
  • 3-4 Three minutes
  • 5 three and a half minutes
  • 6 composer's choice up to five minutes.

Next roll a coin to determine the length of the segment you are creating. Tails= thirty seconds Heads= one minute. If you roll Heads again, twice in a row you decide any length for the segment.
