| During the Cold War, he was an agent for the US government, working under the control of his boy [[Toxick Tommy|Tommy]]. Together, they foiled Communist schemes, halted international piracy, and even performed pivotal explorations of the solar system. When trouble reared its head, and problems seemed insurmountable, there was always [[:Category:Controller Tommy and Tobor|Controller Tommy and Tobor]] to call in.

| After the fall of the Soviet Union, in view of their increasing obsolescence for military use, Tobor was deactivated and placed into storage, and Tommy retired from service. It is unknown what happened to Tommy in the years that followed; what is known is that Tobor was stolen and sold to wealthy collectors of miscellany, who to this day keep his body on display behind glass.

The mind of Tobor, having been designed for long-range control by ESP, was, with some small difficulty, taken from the body by Controller:N, and transferred to a non-local set of programs.
